On a beautiful sunny day my daughter, son and I spent time, shovels in hand, to carve out what would become a safe haven from sidewalk snowball attacks! A pile of snow, carefully amassed through diligent clearing of the driveway and sidewalk stood no match for 2 shovels (we took turns ‘supervising’). We worked up a sweat, got a couple of faces full of blowing snow – all in the name of fun (though there was some debate as to whether cold snow in the face was fun…) When our labours were done we had an entry tunnel and space for several kids to stakeout for a sidewalk attack -or invasion- depending on who was where. It was then time to head inside for some hot chocolate – even though we really didn’t need to warm up. And now – we wait for those neighbourhood marauders… Funny that on such a beautiful day no one was walking by – must be they were having the same snow-fort idea…
Whole lot of snow!
