I have begun to unplug all my chargers and non-essential appliances, such as toaster, coffee maker, kettle, blender etc. I am hoping that this will significantly reduce my hydro cost.
I do find it annoying to have loose cords lying around, and I must get used to putting chargers in a specific place. My biggest problem is going to make a coffee or toast, forgetting that they are not plugged in…Learning curve!
I will not unplug fridge or stove, washer and dryer as these appliances are much too difficult to replug.
