I lead such a hectic life – master’s thesis, school, work, planning for the future, trying to find temporary work to pay the bills, trying to find permanent work to launch my career, networking to do all the above, and if my life wasn’t already complicated enough, I just signed up for a month long detoxing cleanse. When keeping really busy, I find some peace from the dark thoughts that consumed me a few years ago after going through a rough depression. Sometimes I have found that taking too much time to reflect can be a bad thing, letting all the negativity seep back in, while, if I am busy, I don’t have time for those negative thoughts because I’m busy reacting to everything, juggling numerous balls and focusing on keeping afloat. Taking 5 minutes to reflect once in a while is a better idea. It lets everything I’m doing sink in, helps me find the positive, and gives me hope for the future. Then, before start getting critical, the 5 minutes are up and I’m off to my next task!
