Pesticides are designed to control the nuisance and damage caused by pests. They have contributed to reducing disease and increasing food production worldwide. The availability and widespread use of pesticides has the potential to pose unexpected health risks.

One way to reduce pesticide exposure is always wash your fruits and vegetables. You can make your own produce wash using a very diluted solution of mild dish-washing detergent (1 tsp detergent per gallon, or 4 liters, water). Rinse well with slightly warm water.
