Mother Figure

My mother taught me that it is extremely important to do what you can to protect the world around you. She installed in us children a sense of urgency in ensuing everything we did was somehow for the betterment of the planet. She took us for tours of waste management sites and recycling sites so that we had a greater understanding of why things were required. She took us to electronic and hazardous waste recycling times so that we knew why we shouldn’t just throw that stuff in the garbage. She showed us how to compost and grow our own food, and how to reuse as much as we can. I am very thankful for all that she taught us about our earth.
