So I often struggle with the fact that for myself and my two children aged fourteen and ten pack litterless lunches for school and work. I find that if you put in the preparation work ahead if time it makes things much much easier. I use reusable containers and vessels for water and juice. Use actual cutlery to bring home and wash and try not to purchase any pre-packaged snacks or treats. We all use reusable washAble lunch bags as well. I try to have my children use the green bin at school for leftovers as well.
