My husband has always been a fisherman but I’ve never done it before. Now when we go to his hometown in BC we fish. It is so relaxing! Normally I talk nonstop but something about fishing has a vibe that I shouldn’t talk. It’s nice just casting and reeling in silence, with the only other sound being the river. Every now and then I’ll look at my husband and smile, and carry on minding my own rod.
It gets really exciting when we cath something- that’s when I talk again! It’s a very cool feeling catching your meal for the evening. Salmon is especially delicious, and it came by the river directly into our hands. No fish farms or shipping or stores. Just us and the fish.
