When I was a little girl I would spend hours making little people out of backyard garden leaves, twigs and flowers. The other day, while enjoying hot tea and a little bit of warm autumn sun, I decided to give it another fun little try.
There was something exceptional in being able to create something beautiful out of found items. Not only do I think this applies to outdoor art, but also has translated into my love for foraging food. I’ve just learned to forage for autumn olives, and plan to help a coworker teach a group of schoolchildren make autumn olive jelly for a program the charity I work for runs, called Growing Chefs! Ontario.
