So we went apple picking over the weekend and brought home the most amazing macintosh apples.
Crispy, juicy with just the right tang to cleanse the pallate. I made my favorite pie, an apple crumble pie, which is like an apple crisp, but in a pie. I make the pie shell, then I put about 12 big apples, sliced and mixed with brown sugar, cinnamon, some butter and some cornstarch, then I put a topping of oatmeal, butter, cinnamon and a bit of flour until it can hold together with the butter and oatmeal and I mold that on top of the apples. Baked for one hour at 350 degrees and it is the best pie ever!
