Her real name is Gloria Jean Watkins, Bell Hooks is her pen name, she is an amazing american author. She has published over 30 books and participated in various public lectures. Primarily through a postmodern perspective, hooks has addressed race, class, and gender in education, art, history, sexuality, mass media and feminism.
I’ve discovered her with the movie MY FEMINISM. It introduces feminism’s key themes while exposing the cultural fears underlying the lesbian baiting, backlash, and political extremism which informed feminist dialogues in the 90’s, some of which continues to this day.
She will be my inspiration until I die and hopefully there will be more women like her.
