Are flowers edible?

Many of us grow veggies, including zucchini. But do you know that you can eat the flowers from a zucchini plant? It is actually a delicacy, because with every flower you eat, there will not be a zucchini to grow. I usually pick the flowers near the end of the season when I know I would not get a full sized zucchini. I rinse the flowers, dip them in flour, then dip them again in an egg mixture. I drop them in well heated oil, such as canola or sunflower just until the batter is golden and firm. There are many recipes online with variations and I suggest you try a few of them to see what you prefer.
