It seems everything is getting more expensive. Food, utilities, transportation, cleaning supplies. I decided to look for environmentally safe alternatives to washing my clothes and came upon this “recipe.” We all have small bars of soap lying around, this is what they can be used for. A good old fashioned cleaning product for our clothing.
Take one bar of soap, grated (freeze it first for easier grating.) 1 cup of washing soda, 1 cup of borax and it is optional to add 1 cup baking soda, for whiter whites. Mix all together and use 1-2 tablespoons per load of wash. Works well in cold water and high efficiency washers.
