How do I sign up?
Click on “Sign up” in the top right hand corner. Once you have completed the registration form, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address.
How can I get a reward?
You must be a registered member of the site and have the specified amount of ekopoints required for the reward in question. Your ekopoints are shown in the top right menu. You can also consult your user activity by clicking on your profile.
How can I accumulate ekopoints?
There are many ways you can accumulate ekopoints: take challenges, answer a quiz, complete a diagnostic or commit to daily actions. For more information, please consult the How it Works section.
How do I choose a challenge?
Once you are on the challenge page (available in the drop down menu “Earn”), click on “Register for this challenge” if not already signed up, or “I accept this challenge” if you are signed in. You will receive an email confirming your challenge and which reward you have chosen to accumulate ekopoints towards.
How do I validate a challenge?
You must meet the specified requirement of the challenge as indicated in the email we will send to you. You can either validate your challenge by following the link in the email, or directly on the Ekodéfi website by clicking the button “1 challenge in progress” at the top of the page. The validation criteria is also available here.
How long do I have to complete a challenge?

How is a challenge validated?
The validation method varies from one challenge to another and is specified at the end of the challenge in bold. You must go to the validation page of your challenge to see which specific actions are required to complete the challenge. The actions required may include submitting a short report, or uploading a photo or receipt. You will find a hyperlink to the validation page of your challenge in the email we send to you confirming your participation in a challenge. You can also access it by clicking on the “1 challenge in progress” button at the top of the page.
We are firm believers in the honour system, but this remains difficult to control. Challenges are not certified, but are designed to get you thinking, help you discover new ideas and encourage healthier and more sustainable behaviours.
Challenges are approved manually by members of our team. Specific questions in relation to the challenge may also be asked.
The challenge report should tell the story of the challenge experience (what you’ve done, what you learnt, what you want to share with our community etc).
Our editorial team chose which reports are published on the site.
If a challenge report contains any of the following characteristics, it will be automatically refused:
1) Affects an individual’s integrity
2) Defamation
3) Discrimination
4) Sexual or pornographic material
5) Incomprehensible or confusing nature
6) Fictitious appearance
7) Highly critical or insulting
8) Appears to serve a commercial interest and not that of an individual
9) Irrelevant or unrelated information in regards to the challenge
Users who submit reports with any of the above characteristics will not only have their report refused, their account may also be cancelled.
How do I attach a photo to a challenge?
Once you accept a challenge, you must complete a validation report to earn your ekopoints. Some challenges require a photo as a validation criterion. To attach a photo to the report, you must go to the validation page of the challenge. You can then select and download your photo and add it in the “Photo” section. The accepted file format is JPEG, and the maximum image size must not exceed 1MB.
What if my challenge is blocked?
When you exceed the deadline of 10 days to complete a challenge, sometimes the challenge blocks your account and prevents you from taking new challenges. If such a situation arises, please contact customer service at the following address: info@ekodefi.com
How do I receive a reward?
The way you receive your reward will vary depending on the Ekodéfi partner.
There are two methods for receiving rewards:
1. When you have enough ekopoints and confirm you still wish to receive the reward, a reward coupon will be emailed to you. It will be redeemable in store or via a business’ website if applicable. More specific details will be included on the reward coupon depending on the preferences of the individual retailor or service provider. This could include whether you must print the reward coupon, simply show the reward coupon on your mobile phone or device, or enter the reward coupon code on a business’ website etc.
2. When you have enough ekopoints and you confirm your desire to receive the reward, you will be asked to confirm your postal address. Your reward will then be sent directly to your home by post.
How do I retrieve my password?
It is possible that you have already created an account and have stopped using it.
In this case, click on the “Log in” button at the top right, then “Forgot Password”. You will then enter your email address, and your password will be sent to this address.
