I love my garden

The month of May is my favorite. The lawns are an emerald green only seen at this time of year. The freshness of newly sprouted flowers and seeds is a joy. After the 20th, I start to plant. Besides all the flowers, I have a section just for veggies. I don’t have much room, but I love to plant herbs, tomatoes, green beans and basil.
By the end of July, the beans are ready to pick and there is nothing like freshly steamed green beans just picked from the garden. I share my herbs with family and I share tomatoes with squirrels! It’s hard to keep the little buggers away from the green ones, but I manage to salvage a few. This year I will enclose them in chicken wire for added protection so we can enjoy them!
