The Heart and Stroke Foundation was founded more than 50 years ago to raise public awareness of cardiovascular health, enable researchers to reverse heart disease trends, and to raise necessary funds to educate Canadians to improve their heart health.
Today the Foundation’s vision is to create a national-wide movement to eliminate heart disease and stroke. By focussing on key prevention areas, as well as enabling improved cardiac emergency response and treatment, the Heart and Stroke Foundation empowers Canadians to live healthier lives.
Since 1956, the Foundation has raised and invested more than a billion dollars in cutting edge cardiovascular and stroke research. Over 80% of the funds raised goes directly to research and education programs.
