Not being a Quebec Resident, I was unable to complete Hydro Quebec’s Challenge. Instead I went to Energy Star’s website to determine what I have in my home that is most sustainable, and what needs to be upgraded.
This past year alone, my superintendent has replaces my toilet, shower head, faucets in the kitchen and bathroom, refrigerator and stove to more energy efficient brands. I personally think that this is fantastic and I was very glad for it, even if it involved a bit of difficulty while things were getting changed.
I only use energy efficient light bulbs and unplug almost all of my appliances when I am not using them.
My thermostat and windows are something that I think are big products that need to be replaced, but that is the main thing. Also, our shared washing machines and driers are not energy efficient.
That being said, there are certainly things to be worked on, but I think that I am in decent/reasonable shape.
