I learned that my household’s energy consumption is less than average! My house has large windows facing south, so we rarely have lights on during the daytime. We also do not play any video games or watch very much television, which cuts down on the amount of electricity we use. We have a barbecue outside to do most of the cooking during the summer, so we don’t use our oven. We are happy using as little electricity as possible, and with five adults in our house that is impressive. Our electricity bill is often very reasonable even in the winter, considering our house is very old with poor insulation, especially around the large windows.
