I have a journal next to my bed…I rarely write in it. It just seems a daunting task at the end of the day, as I roll exhausted into bed, to take the time to write something to fill a page of a notebook. But to write one thing each day. One thing that I am thankful for. That doesn’t seem so difficult. Each day could be one word. Arika. My daughter. She is the reason my world is in color and my life has meaning. But I will dig deeper and be more specific each day so as to use the journal as a memory keepsake as well. Today I am thankful for the sweet way in which she said her prayers. Remembering each special thing that happened today in turn. And even surprising me with a twist at the end. She said. Thank you for taking me to swimming. Thank you for taking me to breakfast. And thank you for Jess coming over for supper. Amen. Jess is a friend of mine and I didn’t know Arika would consider that so special. It was so sweet. Usually she is just thankful for going to places not for people coming here..Amazing…what will it be tomorrow?
